Privacy policy
What Ahsan keeps, why, who can see it and how long it stays. Real mosque accounts aren’t open yet, so where this says how they will work, it says planned.
Who we are
Ahsan is a back office for mosques, made by Mouliqe LLC (“we”, “us”), a limited liability company registered in Virginia, in the United States. Our postal address is [company postal address], and our email is [contact email].
This policy covers this website (getahsan.com), the live demo, and Ahsan itself when real mosque accounts open.
Where things stand
Ahsan opens to mosques on November 15, 2026. Until then there are three things: this website, with its launch email and Founding Mosque forms; a live demo of a sample mosque; and the demo’s own form for people who want Ahsan for their mosque.
Where this policy describes how real accounts will work, it says planned. [Before real accounts open, a lawyer confirms each planned part and the dates and periods in square brackets are filled in]
This website
- No cookies, no analytics, no ads. The site sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising tags, and loads nothing from other companies’ servers: its fonts, pictures and scripts all come from the site itself, except Cloudflare’s bot check (Turnstile), which loads on the pages that have a form. [How Cloudflare handles the bot check’s data: for the lawyer]
- A demo pass. When you sign up on this site, the reply carries a pass that opens the demo for one day without asking for your email again. Your browser keeps it in its own storage for that day and adds it to the site's links to the demo. The pass names no one.
- The theme you pick. The site opens in its light theme. If you switch it to the dark theme, your browser remembers that choice in its own storage (not a cookie), so the next page opens the same way. The choice is never sent to us, and clearing the site's data in your browser removes it.
- Hosting. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare receives the requests your browser makes, including your IP address and the kind of browser you use, to deliver the pages and to protect the site from attacks. [How long Cloudflare keeps these request logs, and our terms with Cloudflare: for the lawyer]
- The prayer timetable maker works out prayer times in your browser. The city, coordinates and settings you choose never leave it, and nothing is stored.
- The launch email and Founding Mosque forms. If you sign up for the launch email or apply to be a Founding Mosque, we keep what you type: your name and email address and, if you give them, your role, the mosque’s name, city, state or province and country, the mosque’s size and school, the tools it uses today, what it would want moved over, and your note. We also keep the words you agreed to and the page or campaign link that brought you. We use them only to write to you about Ahsan’s launch and the Founding Mosque program. We send a confirmation email first, every email has a one-click unsubscribe, and we never sell or share your details. They’re stored in our database on Cloudflare. We keep them for [retention period: not set], or until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them.
- If we ever measure visits (planned, not decided). If we decide to use analytics or advertising measurement on this website, a banner will ask first. Nothing beyond what the site needs to work will be set before you agree, refusing will be as easy as accepting, your choice will be remembered in your browser, and you’ll be able to change it from the foot of any page. This policy will name each tool before it is switched on.
The live demo
- Made-up data. The demo is a private copy of a made-up sample mosque. Payments in it are test payments: no card is charged, and no emails, texts or notifications leave it. Please don’t type real people’s details into the sample mosque.
- In your browser, where it can run. In a browser that can run it, your copy lives in that browser’s own storage, and nothing you do in the sample mosque is written to our database. The browser also remembers that the demo runs there, and how you like the demo to look.
- On our server, where it can’t. A browser that can’t run the demo gets a private copy on our server instead, after a bot check (Cloudflare Turnstile) that Cloudflare runs. [How Cloudflare handles the bot check’s data: for the lawyer] Two cookies tie your browser to that copy and to the person you’re viewing the sample as. The copy is deleted when its 24 hours end.
- Anonymous counts. When a part of the demo is opened, such as the money overview or the prayer-hall screen, the demo sends us a count of it for that day. The counts carry no name, no account and no identifier. Your IP address is used briefly to limit how many requests one address can send, and isn’t kept with the counts.
- The email before the demo. The demo asks for an email address before it opens; a name, role and the mosque's name are optional. We keep what you type, the words you agreed to and the page or campaign link that brought you, and use them only to write to you about Ahsan. The first email asks you to confirm the address, and every email has a one-click unsubscribe. Your browser then remembers that the demo may open (it keeps no email address), so it doesn't ask again on that device.
- If you leave your details. The demo has a short form for people who want Ahsan for their mosque. If you fill it in, we keep what you type there: your name, the mosque’s name, city, state or region, email address, role and note, so that we can write to you about Ahsan. We keep it for [retention period: not set], and you can ask us to delete it at any time.
Real mosque accounts (planned)
- The mosque’s records are the mosque’s. When real accounts open, the mosque decides what it keeps in Ahsan and who on its team can see it. We will handle its records only to run Ahsan for the mosque, on its instructions. [The mosque as the controller and Mouliqe LLC as its processor, and the data processing terms that come with each account: for the lawyer]
- What a mosque can keep. Households and the people in them, gifts and pledges, zakat and other help requests, members and dues, elections, weekend school students with their attendance, fees and results, bookings, volunteers, announcements and the messages the mosque sends.
- Each role sees only its own work. The board, the treasurer, the principal, the teachers, parents and members each see the parts that are theirs, and an activity log shows who changed what.
- Children’s records. Records of children, such as weekend school students, open only for the roles named for them: a teacher sees only their own classes, and a parent sees only their own children. Every download of a list is written in the activity log. No child’s record ever appears on a public page.
- Help requests and ballots. Zakat requests and payouts open only for the board admin and the treasurer. A voter’s receipt code isn’t linked to their name.
- Every list exports. The mosque can download every list, from households and gifts to students, as a spreadsheet, at any time, including when it leaves.
What we never do
- No ads, anywhere: not on this website, not in the demo, and not in Ahsan.
- We never sell data, and never share it. We never sell the mosque’s records or anyone’s personal details, and never give them to anyone for their own use. The companies that host and run Ahsan for us, listed below, handle data only to do that work. [Disclosures the law can require, such as a court order: for the lawyer]
Payments (planned)
- When real giving opens, card payments go to the mosque’s own Stripe account, with the mosque as the merchant. Ahsan never holds the money.
- Card details go to the payment company, never to us. Ahsan keeps the record of each gift: the amount, the fund, the date, the method and the payment’s reference.
Who handles data for us
- Cloudflare hosts this website and the demo, and runs the demo’s bot check.
- Planned, when real accounts open: the payment company each mosque chooses (Stripe), an email service and a text-message service. [Names, once chosen]
- [Where each of them keeps data, and the safeguards for data that crosses borders: for the lawyer]
How long things are kept
- A demo copy: 24 hours, then it is deleted.
- The demo’s anonymous counts: [retention period: not set].
- Details left in the demo’s form: [retention period: not set], or until you ask us to delete them.
- A real mosque account (planned): for as long as the mosque keeps its account. After it closes, [retention period: not set], with backups deleted within [retention period: not set].
Your choices and rights
- You can ask to see, correct, download or delete what we hold about you by writing to [contact email].
- If you’re a member, a parent or a volunteer at a mosque that uses Ahsan (planned), the mosque decides about its records, so ask the mosque first. We will help it answer.
- The UK and the EU: [The lawful basis for each use above, under UK and EU data protection law: for the lawyer] Records a mosque keeps can reveal religious belief, which that law treats as special-category data. [The condition that applies to the mosque’s records, and to us as its processor: for the lawyer] You can complain to the data protection regulator where you live; in the UK, that is the Information Commissioner’s Office.
- The United States: we don’t sell personal information or share it for advertising. [The state privacy laws that may apply as Ahsan grows: for the lawyer]
- Canada and Australia: [What PIPEDA and the Privacy Act 1988 ask of us: for the lawyer]
Children
This website and the demo are meant for the adults who run a mosque, not for children. In a real account (planned), children’s records are entered by the mosque’s own staff. [The consent of parents or guardians the mosque needs, and each country’s rules on children’s data, such as COPPA in the United States and the UK’s Children’s Code: for the lawyer]
Changes to this policy
We will post any change here with a new date. For real accounts, we will tell each mosque before a change that affects its records takes effect. [How much notice: for the lawyer]

Still to decide
Before this policy comes into force, a lawyer and Mouliqe LLC decide each of these:
- The effective date, the company’s postal address and the contact email.
- Each retention period: the demo’s counts, the demo’s form, the launch email and Founding Mosque forms, a closed account and its backups.
- The UK and EU lawful basis for each use, and the special-category condition for a mosque’s records.
- The data processing terms between each mosque and Mouliqe LLC.
- Cloudflare’s request logs and bot check, and safeguards for data that crosses borders.
- Children’s data in each country, and the consent a mosque needs.
- Notice periods for changes.
